Pleasure to meet you internet visitor.  I've been happily designing experiences and leading staff design teams for about 9 years.  My experience ranges from large enterprise software shipping once a year to startup consumer facing apps shipping at light-speed.  I believe user experience and product design starts with research and deep understanding of human beings, is refined through quickly and cheaply testing prototypes with those same humans, and is ultimately an ongoing series of real world experiments that provide feedback to building a business in the long term.

I'm focused on adapting traditional user experience methodology and team structures to work in agile environments built around with shipping cultures.  I love creating designs and autonomous teams that are focused around validated learning and showing real product results over the long term.  In a nutshell...I enjoy helping teams and companies build outstanding products that solve real problems that users love and are wiling to pay for.  If that sounds like something you're into as well, we should grab a beer or three!

I've been happily trapped in New England most of my life. I grew up in Wellesley Mass, went to school at both Boston University and then Bentley, lived in Allston, the Back Bay, Fenway, tried the suburbs of Needham, and then gave up and moved back in to Somerville...in that order.  I firmly believe Massachusetts is the greatest state in the union not least of all because we invented America.  California is appealing, but it always seems to be on fire.

When I'm not prototyping, usability testing, or lamenting the sorry state of mobile affordances you can sometimes find me fishing, clamming, scalloping, watching all the movies, drinking and making craft beer and otherwise enjoying life near an ocean.
